Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only do elopements?
No. We plan elopements and small weddings. Partner venues run from 14 guests at The Glasshouse and Mt Kanimbla Retreats up to 120 at Mount Booralee Estate and Norman Lindsay Gallery.
Do we have to use one of your partner venues?
No. You can book a venue outside our partners and we bring the other services to you. That could be the Botanic Gardens, a private Airbnb or a family home.
Can we get married at a lookout or waterfall?
Yes. Clifftops, waterfalls and fern gullies on National Park or Council land are some of our favourite places. We usually recommend a spot next to the well-known lookouts, with the same view and fewer people. TBC: whether a ceremony on National Park land needs a permit, and who arranges it
Is Kyle a legal celebrant?
Yes. Kyle is a Commonwealth-authorised civil celebrant and MC, and Victoria Eustace of All We Need Is Love is our second celebrant. Either can handle every legal part of your ceremony.
How far ahead should we book?
Most couples book four to eight months ahead. We take bookings up to 18 months out, which is also the legal limit for lodging your notice of marriage. The legal minimum is one month, because your Notice of Intended Marriage has to be with your celebrant at least a month before the ceremony.
How does payment work?
After your call, a $200 quote fee secures your custom quote. It is paid by bank transfer, and credited against your final balance. A 50% deposit books your date and the balance is due four weeks before the wedding. We take payment by bank transfer.
What happens if it rains?
Every partner venue has a wet weather option, and each venue page lists it. For a clifftop or waterfall ceremony: TBC: Kyle’s standard wet weather plan for public-land ceremonies
Can our dog come?
Often, yes. Pet rules differ by venue and are listed on each venue page. Pets As Guests can chaperone your dog on the day and help get them into the photos.
We have young children. Can someone look after them?
Yes. Jenna from BMs Babysitting Service meets you at the clifftop or venue and keeps little ones safe and entertained nearby during the ceremony.
Is everyone welcome?
Elope Blue Mountains is a place where your love is welcomed and affirmed, regardless of your gender identity, sexuality, race, age, religion, body size or ability.
Do you plan weddings outside the Blue Mountains?
TBC: whether Kyle takes weddings outside the Blue Mountains, and where
